Mercedes Pérez San Martín nació en Buenos Aires en 1980. Es Licenciada en Arte en la Universidad de Palermo (2000- 2005) y realizó estudios en la Escuela Nacional Prilidiano Pueyrredón (1998- 2000). Realiza estudios sobre arte contemporáneo con Hugo Petruchansky. Concurrió a diversos talleres de pintura, entre ellos, el de Sergio Bazán (2003- 2006), Tulio de Sagastizábal (2000- 2002) y Héctor Medici (1998- 2000). Estudió dibujo con María Spinelli (1998- 2002) y en The Artists League of New York (2000). En 2005 obtuvo el primer premio en la categoría de artes plásticas del concurso Heineken Inspire y fue becada por el LEA. A la vez fue seleccionada para una beca de residencia en el Banff Centre for the Arts, Canadá. Mostró su obra en el Centro Cultural Recoleta (2006), en el Centro Cultural Borges (2006), en el Centro Cultural Casona de Olivera (2006), en el Premio Proyecto A (2005), en el Hotel Faena/premio Heineken Inspire (2005) y en The Untitled Arts Society en Calgary, Canadá (2005).
Mercedes Pérez San Martín was born in Buenos Aires in 1980. She is Bachelor in Arts at Universidad de Palermo (2000-2005) and took art clasess at Escuela Nacional Prilidiano Pueyrredón (1998- 2000) and contemporary art theory with Hugo Petruchansky (2006). She assisted to various artist´s studios and took painting clasess with Sergio Bazán (2003- 2007), Tulio de Sagastizábal (2000- 2002) and Héctor Medici (1998- 2000), and drawing clasess with María Spinelli (1998- 2002) and in The Artists League of New York (2000). In 2005 she took the first price in visual arts cathegory at the Heineken Inspire contest and she got a grant by the LEA, the Experimental Arts Laboratory at the Faena/Phillipe Stark hotel. She was also chosen for a residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts, Canada. Her paintings were shown in Centro Cultural Recoleta (2006), Centro Cultural Borges (2006), Centro Cultural Casona de Olivera (2006), Proyecto A Price (2005), in Hotel Faena/premio Heineken Inspire (2005) and in The Untitled Arts Society en Calgary, Canada (2005). She lives and works in Buenos Aires.
